St. Louis Holiday Lights

December is flying by and we are well on our way to Christmas day! In last week’s blog, we talked about safely lighting up the night with holiday decorations at your home or business. Also, be sure to take some time to check out some of our favorite places to view Holiday Lights in and around St. Louis. Enjoy!

Wild Lights at the Zoo

The world-renowned St. Louis Zoo is definitely a wild place to celebrate. Each evening from 5:30 – 8:30 pm, the St. Louis sky is ablaze with exciting displays sprinkled throughout one of our most beloved venues. Stop by to say hi to favorite animal friends, including Kali the polar bear, all the penguins and puffins, the crawling critters of the insectarium, and the sea lions. Kids of all ages enjoy campfire s’mores and fireside stories, as well as ice carving demonstrations on Fridays and Saturdays. The Conservation Carousel and a 4-D viewing of the Polar Express are perfect options, which are available at an additional fee. The display is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve; the final day of the event is January 3, 2016.

Anheuser-Busch Brewery Lights

The lights are on every night through January 3, most can be viewed via a drive through the brewery grounds. Complimentary walking tours are offered each evening from 5 – 10 pm, with the exception of Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. If you need a snack, head on over to S’mores Station or to the food stations located in the Biergarten. Guests 21 years of age and older may also participate in beer sampling.

Tilles Park

Each year Tilles Park is transformed into a true Winter Wonderland. The display remains open until January 2, with closings on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. On Saturdays, only carriage rides are available, but vehicles are welcome on all other evenings. Cash admission is paid upon exit; click here for costs.

Way of Lights at Our Lady of the Snow Shrine
A gorgeous display of more than a million lights lie across the river at this free attraction. Other offerings do involve a fee, including a laser light show, camel and donkey rides, petting zoo, a Christmas tree display with community performances, puppet show, Lego display, and carriage rides.

Garden Glow

A million lights surround the beauty of the Missouri Botanical Gardens. Interactive photo opps, music, food and drinks await guests in this beautiful walk-through display.

Keep in mind that you can take along those outdated, unsafe and non-working holiday lights when visiting the St. Louis Zoo or Tilles Park. Both areas offer to recycle lights, thereby keeping them out of landfills.

We hope that you enjoy your holiday season! Please share with us about your favorite experience.
