Earth Day 2022

Today is Earth Day 2022. Every April 22nd, businesses across America participate in celebrating Earth Day. The first official Earth Day was held in 1970, and the reason to celebrate remains unchanged. Earth Day is meant to give support and raise awareness for environmental protection initiatives around the world.

In case you’re not aware, Branham Electric offers two energy saving services: energy efficient lighting and electrical vehicle charging.  As an Ameren Missouri Trade Ally, our energy efficient lighting services offer our customers an opportunity to reduce your energy consumption and secure Ameren cash back incentives.

On average, energy efficient lighting (EEL) reduces a business’ utility cost by 30-50%. EEL provides one of the highest ROIs available in today’s energy efficiency products market. Lighting makes up 38% of most business’ energy consumption. EEL offers great energy savings and results in actual dollars saved on your electric bill and typically delivers a 1-3 year payback.

Branham Electric is your energy efficient lighting expert. We’ve reduced our customers’ annual electrical consumption by over 8 million kilowatt hours (kWh) which equates to reducing their annual energy cost by over $900,000. Want to know more?  Click here.

Considering an electrical vehicle for your home or business? Branham Electric makes electric vehicle charging easy. No matter where you are in the electrification process, our website walks you through the pros and cons and provides general information that helps determine which electric vehicle charging station is right for you. Plus, we’ll do all the work to secure your Ameren Missouri EV Charging incentives.

This year’s Earth Day theme is, “Invest in Our Planet.” Here’s 4 easy ways you can celebrate:

  • Save Water While Brushing Your Teeth – Per the Environmental Protection Agency, most people can conserve up to 3 gallons of water per day by simply turning off the faucet while brushing their teeth. No need to sacrifice convenience either – just turn off the faucet and use a cup or water bottle to rinse after brushing.
  • Turn off Lights – Did you know the average American family wastes $100 a year on electricity that’s not needed? For Earth Day 2022, take a pledge to turn off the lights in your home that you’re not using. Not only will it help reduce your energy bill, but it will help reduce your carbon footprint. Quick fact: if every American family turned off the lights when they are not in use, Americans could save up to $10 billion in energy cost each year!
  • Use Reusable Food and Drink Containers – Every day, companies worldwide produce 2.5 billion disposable food containers. Many can’t even be recycled. These containers end up in landfills and oceans where they take hundreds of years to decompose. Today, make the commitment to choose reusable food and drink containers that don’t hurt our environment.
  • Call 1-800-Got-Junk – it’s a great resource for recycling and disposing of unwanted materials on Earth Day and every day. The company provides pick up of any type of waste or debris, allowing you to declutter your home or office quickly and easily. They also recycle and donate whenever they can, making them a green option for waste disposal.
