Highly Skilled Employees

employees

In last week’s blog, we shared valuable information on choosing the best bid for your project. One key point we wish to discuss further is the importance of determining the skill level, experience and expertise of a subcontractor’s employees.

Poorly skilled subcontractors can add to the length of time it takes to accomplish a project, as well as potentially cost additional funds, especially to remedy potential safety errors. In electrical work, inadequate training and inexperience are not only costly, but also dangerous. A bit of savings is simply not worth the risk.

Branham Electric makes safety and training a top priority. Our clients have the peace of mind and confidence that projects are handled safely, efficiently and with the highest quality work. Each of our technicians meet the following qualifications:

  • Completed background check and drug testing.
  • Completed OSHA 10 Certification, which requires initial and ongoing education regarding the appreciation, prevention, avoidance and reduction of safety and health hazards in the workplace.
  • Completed extensive training and apprenticeship to become journeyman electricians certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training (DOL/BAT). This involves completion of a 4-year program including 172 hours of classroom training per year, 8000 hours of on-the-job training with a one-to-one journeyman to apprentice ratio, and 48 hours of lab time per year.
  • Participate in continuous education covering the latest procedures and equipment including all current NEC, NFPA and local jurisdiction standards.

In addition, our leadsmen and project managers are PPE/ARC Flash certified and carry full arc flash and PPE protection. We are Avetta certified, which means that we are a prequalified subcontractor, and have proven our commitment to work in a safe and sustainable manner.

Our commitment to safety and quality begins at the very top of our company and extends to each and every member of our team. Branham Electric has been the proud recipient of many safety awards, as well as awards for outstanding customer service and reliability.

For us, this means we uphold the highest industry standards. For our clients, this means a savings in time and money and less stress for your project.

Keep an eye out, as we will soon announce the release of a resourceful e-book that you and your team can refer to again and again. We will share more information and ideas on exactly what you need to know in order to receive the best quality bids for your projects.
